We respect your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what data EchoJar processes, why, where it is stored, and your rights. If you do not agree with the terms, please do not use the application.

2. Scope

This policy applies to the EchoJar Android mobile application and all features within it.

3. What Data We Process

3.1 Data Stored Locally on Your Device

• Voice recordings (if you use audio recording features): stored locally on your device and never uploaded to our servers unless you explicitly share them.
• Settings and preferences (e.g., theme, language, reminders): stored locally.
• App cache and files: required for the app to function properly.

3.2 Data We Do Not Collect

We do not collect or transmit personal data, audio files, contact lists, location data, payment data, advertising identifiers, or similar information.

3.3 Diagnostics and Analytics

By default, we do not use analytics. If analytics or crash reporting (e.g., Google/Firebase) are added in future versions, this policy will be updated and data collection will be minimal and anonymized.

4. Permissions and Their Purpose

• RECORD_AUDIO — allows you to record your voice inside the app; files remain on your device.
• POST_NOTIFICATIONS (Android 13+) — used to display reminders if you enable them.
• FOREGROUND_SERVICE — keeps background features running when required by the OS.

Permissions are requested only when needed and can be revoked in your device settings.

5. How We Use Data

• To provide the app’s core functions (recording, playback, reminders).
• To save your settings and improve user experience (locally).

We do not sell or rent your data.

6. Storage and Security

• All data is stored locally on your device.
• You control access to your device (password, biometric security, OS encryption).
• We cannot access your recordings unless you explicitly share them.

7. Sharing with Third Parties

We do not share your data with third parties. If you use the “Share” function, your data will be sent only through the apps/services you choose, subject to their privacy policies.

8. Advertising and Tracking

The app does not use advertising SDKs and does not track you for advertising purposes.

9. Your Rights

• Access and control: you can view, delete, and export your recordings.
• Revoke permissions: you can revoke permissions at any time in your Android settings.
• Data deletion: uninstalling the app removes its local data (except for files you saved elsewhere).

10. Children

The app is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. The new version takes effect upon publication on this page. The last update date is shown at the top of the document.
